VARUN NAYAK
aspiring to lead the Robotics Revolution!
I am a graduate student at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University, USA, specializing in Robotics, Mechatronics and Artificial Intelligence.

Recently, I completed a summer internship a Auris Health, Inc. (a surgical robotics company owned by Johnson and Johnson). At Auris, I worked on developing several new features to improve flexibility and safety of robot arms used for various clinical procedures.

I completed my bachelor's thesis at Autonomous Robots Lab, University of Nevada, Reno under Dr. Kostas Alexis on the topic of 'Aerial Manipulation for Contact Inspection'. I also worked on developing a fast and robust kinematics solver or a 6-DoF parallel manipulator that would be used to perform neurosurgery, at Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai.

My planned coursework at Stanford includes a blend of mechatronics, controls and artificial intelligence. I am looking to improve my skills in robot development both on the hardware and the software engineering sides.
